Salvatore first came to Boston in 2007 to spend part of his Ph.D. at the Physics Department of Northeastern University, and then came back again and settled here in 2011 to work as a postdoc at Boston College and at Harvard University. In 2014 he co-founded TetraScience, a software startup that develops cloud based products for accelerating R&D in the life science industry. As of the beginning of 2022 he is the CTO of another Boston based software startup called Elemental Machines.
His wife Rita is American-Armenian and with his two daughters, Anya and Elise, they speak both Armenian and Italian.
The PIB school has been instrumental for keeping a solid connection with the Italian culture and the Italian language for him and his family. Additionally, it enabled his daughters to be exposed to the typical Italian sense of community that cannot be found elsewhere.
Andrea moved to the United States in 2007 to attend the MBA program at the University of Chicago. In 2014 he moved to Boston to work on the Dell EMC Enterprise Technology. The PIB school is for him a fantastic opportunity to keep alive Italian language and culture in his family. For him it is especially important, he says, as his wife is not Italian.
Guido moved to America in 2011 to study protein dynamics with computational tools. He is currently employed at Schrodinger, characterizing the interactions between proteins and drug molecules. The Scuola Italiana PIB represents an important place to meet Italian people both for him and for his daughter. Every Saturday morning she is eager to attend the school to join the classroom and to play with other kids in Italian.
